Golf in Eastern Algarve

There are six golf courses available in Eastern Algarve located mainly between the town of Tavira and Vila Real Santo Antonio, which is located on the River Gaudiana and is also the border between Portugal and Spain.

Benamor
This was the first golf course to open in Eastern Algarve and is a par 71 and the most mature in the area. It is located very close to Cabanas with views overlooking the Atlantic and Isla Tavira which boasts one of the best beaches in the area.

Monte-Rei
This is probably the most exclusive golf course in the whole of the Algarve. It is a par 72 designed by Jack Nicklaus, set in the hills close to the picturesque town of Tavira, which is the largest town in Eastern Algarve.

Quinta Di Cima
A par 72 championship style course of great character, located between Tavira and Vila Real Santo Antonio. There is a lot of water with a stream running through the course linking up many of the natural lakes. A challenge to any golfer.

Quinta Da Ria
The sister course to Quinta Da Ria is also a par 72 and has less water but far more bunkers and more of a links course running alongside the Atlantic Ocean.

Quinta Do Vale
Designed by Seve Ballesteros and is located on The River Guadiana which borders Spain and Portugal. The Course embraces Seve’s underlying 6-6-6 concept in golf course construction ; six par 5s, six par 4s and six par 3s Something for everyone and a pleasure to play.

Castro Marim
Is also located on the Spanish Border an elevated position offering stunning views over Eastern Algarve and Andalucia in Spain. Castro Marim has 27 holes and can offer 3 combinations of playing 18 holes.
